Privacy First Web Analytics

Are you tired of sacrificing your visitors' privacy for website analytics? Proxima Analytics is here to change that. Our privacy-first approach ensures that all data collection is carried out anonymously, without the use of cookies or personal data. This means that you can still track usage and gather actionable insights without invading the privacy of your visitors.

But it's not just about protecting your visitors' privacy. Proxima Analytics is also focused on providing a seamless, enjoyable experience for your website users. By respecting their privacy, we help you create a better, more positive experience for your visitors. Plus, our data is collected in aggregate only, so you'll still be able to learn and improve without compromising your visitors' data.

Putting Privacy at the Forefront of Web Analytics

Are you looking for a web analytics tool that values privacy just as much as you do? Look no further! Proxima Analytics is here to provide you with all the insights you need without sacrificing the privacy of your website visitors. Here are just a few of the ways we prioritize privacy at Proxima:

Open Source and Transparent

Proxima Analytics is completely open source software. Our source code is available and accessible on GitHub. This means that anyone can view, review, and inspect the code we use to ensure that we practice what we preach. This level of transparency is essential in the world of privacy software. When it comes to data, it can be hard to trust corporations and proprietary software. The only way to prove that you can be trusted is to allow experts to see what you're doing and verify that you're actually following through on your promises.

We are not a black box. There's nothing proprietary or closed source about Proxima Analytics. Everything is out in the open for everyone to see. This level of transparency is especially important in the field of privacy software. It's important to be able to verify that the company you're working with is actually doing what they say they're doing.

By making our code available and open for inspection, we're able to prove our commitment to privacy and security. Whether you're a developer looking to see how we operate, or just someone who wants to be sure that their data is safe, you can trust that we're doing everything we can to protect your privacy.

Your Data Stays within Europe with Proxima's EU Hosting

We’re a small team based in the EU, with our legal entity incorporated in Greece. We take data privacy seriously, which is why we ensure that all of the data we track and collect is kept fully secured, encrypted, and hosted on renewable energy powered servers in Germany and France. These servers are owned by Hetzner and Scaleway, two trusted European companies, ensuring that all of your website data is protected by the EU’s strict laws on data privacy.

To ensure that your data is even more secure, we use Bunny.net (another European-owned provider from Slovenia) for global CDN and DDoS protection. This means that all of the visitor data we collect is exclusively processed on servers owned and operated by European companies.

With Proxima Analytics, you don’t have to worry about the impact of Schrems II or the invalidation of the EU-US Privacy Shield. Your website data stays within the EU, ensuring that it is always protected.

We're Self-Funded and Independent

Looking for a web analytics solution that doesn't have any hidden agendas or ulterior motives?

We're a small team with no investors or big corporations pulling the strings. We're solely funded by our subscribers, so you can trust that our focus is on providing a high-quality service without any outside influence. Plus, we're not interested in taking investment from any sources, so you can be sure that our values and goals are aligned with yours.

Less Is More: Our Approach to Data Collection

We minimize data collection at Proxima Analytics. We only track the most essential data points, and nothing else. This approach not only respects the privacy of web users, but it also makes our tool easier to use and understand. Plus, it's 40 times lighter than Google Analytics, so it won't slow down your site and will have a smaller carbon footprint.

Other analytics tools like Google Analytics collect and provide hundreds of different reports with hundreds of different metrics. This vast data collection is often unnecessary and can be overwhelming for most website owners. With Proxima Analytics, all the metrics we collect fit on one single page.

We Respect Your Data

Proxima Analytics is all about privacy. That's why we don't track, collect, or store any personal data or personally identifiable information. Our data policy clearly outlines all the data points we do collect, so you can see exactly what we're tracking. We also provide a detailed data journey page that shows you exactly how your data is processed and stored.

Anonymised Data Analysis

At Proxima Analytics, we don't track individual browsing habits. Instead, we prefer to analyse data in aggregate. This means that all the information we collect is combined and analyzed as a whole, rather than focusing on specific individuals or their actions.

No Cross-Device Tracking

We trully believe that your personal data should stay personal. That's why we don't track people across their devices. Instead, we focus on the data from a single device only. This means that you can visit a website from multiple devices, and we won't be able to connect the dots and know that it's the same person.

We take this approach because we value your privacy. We don't

No Cross-Site Tracking

We have designed our tracking system to only collect data from a single website, and not follow users as they browse the internet. We believe that everyone has the right to browse the web without being tracked and monitored. That's why we have implemented a privacy first tracking approach to ensure that our data collection is trully isolated.

We don't use cookies at all. Additionally, we don't generate any persistent identifiers. Instead, we use a random string of letters and numbers to calculate unique visitors on a website, which is reset daily. This ensures compliance with various cookie laws and privacy regulations such as GDPR and PECR. Plus, by not using cookies, you don't have to worry about obtaining consent from your website's visitors to store and retrieve data from their devices. It's one less thing to worry about, and your visitors won't be annoyed by it.

Take Control of Your Website Data

As a user of Proxima Analytics, you have complete ownership and control over all of your website data. While your site analytics may be stored on our server in the cloud when using our hosted service, you have the ability to delete anything we have collected about your site at any time, or even self-host Proxima to keep all data on a server that you own and control. We believe that your data is your own, and we give you the tools and power to manage it as you see fit.

Your Website, Your Data

With Proxima Analytics, you can be confident that your website data is being used for its intended purpose: to help you understand and improve your website. We never use your data for any other purpose or share it with any third parties. Your data is safe and secure with us, and you have full control over it at all times. Whether you choose to host your analytics with us or self-host on your own server, you remain the owner of your data and can delete it or access it as you see fit. Trust us to be your privacy-first web analytics provider.

No Advertisers, No Third Parties

At Proxima Analytics, we believe in respecting your visitors' privacy and keeping their data safe. That's why we've chosen a subscription model over the traditional surveillance capitalism approach. We don't collect and sell personal information to advertisers or third parties. Instead, we rely on our community of paid subscribers to fund our development and cover our costs. With Proxima, you can trust that your website data will never be monetized or used for nefarious purposes. It's all about improving the user experience, not invading their privacy.

Open in Public

We've included a feature that allows website owners to open up their stats to the public. By sharing your stats with your visitors, you can demonstrate exactly what data is being collected and how it's being used.

Many of our users have chosen to do just that, sharing a link to their public stats dashboard in their footer, privacy policy, or on their about page. You can even embed our dashboard directly onto your site. At Proxima, we believe in giving our users complete control and ownership of their data, and this feature is just one way we're doing that.

Self Hosted

As Proxima Analytics is open-source, you can host it yourself on your own server. Both our Cloud and our Self-Hosted products offer the same features. The only difference is that the Self-Hosted version requires you to install, maintain, and manage it on your own server, while the Cloud version is fully managed by us, so you don't have to worry about any technicalities. Choose the version that best fits your needs, your technical skills and your preferences.

We want to thank you for considering Proxima Analytics as your web analytics solution. We hope that this information has provided a better understanding of our privacy-first approach and how we prioritize the protection of your website data and the privacy of your visitors. If you have any further questions or would like to give us a try, please don't hesitate to reach out. We're always here to help.
